2. Cooke Municipal Golf CourseLocated in the heart of Prince Albert, century-old Cooke Municipal Golf Course is a golfer’s paradise. This 18-hole championship course is ranked among the top five public golf courses to play in Saskatchewan and Manitoba by SCOREGolf magazine and Golf Digest. The par 71 course traverses a 6,509-yard design that will challenge golfers of any skill level. Established in 1909, the course is steeped in rich history and tradition, evident throughout the well-managed and manicured grounds of the property. Cooke Municipal has been host to many provincial and national championships, with the most recent being the CanadianMen’s Mid-Amateur in 2009. 4. Nipawin Evergreen Golf ClubThe peaceful Evergreen Golf Club at Nipawin is considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque courses around, and is top rated by media. Cutting through the evergreen forest northeast of Nipawin, the 18-hole championship, 6,539-yard layout is a frequent host to provincial competitions. At a rating of 71.9 and slope of 129, golfers at Evergreen are tested with fairways bordered by northern spruce and pine. While there are few silica sand traps, greens tend to be large and undulating. 5. Waskesiu Golf CourseLocated in Prince Albert National Park of Canada, the Waskesiu Golf Course remains one of the most popular golf destinations in Northern Saskatchewan. Designed by the legendary Stanley Thompson and celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2010, the layout incorporates all of the classic Thompson trademarks, the foremost of which is the use of the natural landscape.
